Growing...

There's a lot of growing in our house these days. Lauren is almost 29 weeks pregnant and so her belly is growing (and she's as beautiful as ever, I might add.) Our family will be growing from two members to three--or from three to four, if you count our dog Max--in late August. Here are some other "growing" things, in no particular order: the grass, the bills, my home improvement projects in the new nursery, and the amount of pink objects in our house.

But we've also noticed something else that's growing: the number of prayers we're offering up to God on behalf of our daughter. Prayers for her health, prayers that she will know she is deeply loved by her parents and by the Lord, prayers that she will be given wisdom and discernment to make smart decisions. And we've noticed that as the number of our prayers grows, these prayers are growing us.

And that's why this blog is called The Growing Hortons. There's a lot of growing in our house these days...
